Client Info

What is a podiatrist? Podiatrists are university trained health professionals that specialise in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of lower limb disorders. This includes the feet, ankles, knees and hips.
Do I need a referral? No. However, there are some circumstances where Medicare will rebate a percentage of the podiatry fees through the Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) care plan. This is at the discretion of your doctor. If you think this may apply to you, then you will need to firstly contact your doctor to make the necessary arrangements and then contact Southern Tas Podiatry Clinic for your podiatry care program. Our receptionist can process Medicare Claims for eligible patients, using Medicare Online Claiming at the time of your appointment.
