First Appointment

What to expect at your first visit to South Tas Podiatry Clinic

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our friendly receptionist who will ask you to kindly fill out a new patient information form. Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow time to complete this.

How long will the appointment take? Your first podiatry appointments can take up to 40 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the type of appointment required. If ongoing treatment is required, follow up appointments can range from 20 - 40 minutes.
What will we do? In your initial appointment we will review your medical history and assess your condition.
Depending on your needs we may do a complete foot and lower limb examination to check your vascular status, nerves, soft tissue and bones of the feet as well as foot function and footwear.
We will then focus on the problem you have described, providing you with a diagnosis and if necessary refer you for further investigations, such as an ultrasound or X-ray, if there are any concerns.
During your consultation, specific education will be provided about your condition including the reason behind your pain or symptoms, treatment options and preventative strategies to help keep you symptom free.
What should I wear to my appointment? We recommend you wear loose comfortable clothing that will easily allow the podiatrist to see your legs and feet.
